After finishing second in the Group 1 South Australian Derby at the start of May, Warmonger went one better in emphatic fashion at Eagle Farm, winning the Group 1 Queensland Derby by over 10 lengths for Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr.
Jockey Blake Shinn presented with his move sweeping around the final turn in a race run at a genuine tempo thanks to tearaway leader Navy King.
Warmonger is the first Group 1 winner for War Decree, who stands at Inglewood Stud in New Zealand.
The OTI Racing colours were prominent across the meeting, with the syndicators combining with Price and Kent Jnr earlier in the program for more black-type success.
