A stablehand has been disqualified following a Racing NSW integrity investigation into the injuries sustained by an unlicensed rider.

Adam Bush was banned for four months after pleading guilty to an improper action related to racing.

An inquiry found that Dubbo-based Bush failed to ascertain the racing bona fides of two riders before allowing a thoroughbred in his care to be ridden without a protective vest on a registered racecourse.

One of the riders, Pip Culverson, was dislodged from the racehorse Truth I Fear in the Dubbo Turf Club’s bullring facility and sustained multiple injuries.

Bush did not have permission to access the bullring outside of the usual operating hours.

Evidence taken from Clint Lundholm cleared the trainer of any wrongdoing because he had no knowledge that Truth I Fear, a rehoming proposition, was to be ridden during an inspection.

Lundholm was not present during the incident, and the inquiry determined that Bush's actions did not align with the stable's usual rehoming practices.

Bush was disqualified for six months, but the penalty was reduced to four months.
