Via Sistina could figure in a programming switch to include the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes on her spring agenda.

Ruled out of the race last week when Yulong confirmed Treasurethe Moment would head to Flemington on Saturday, Via Sistina has been nominated to contest a barrier trial in Sydney on Tuesday.

However, with Treasurethe Moment missing from Makybe Diva entries due to a minor colic issue, there is speculation that the Chris Waller-trained Via Sistina could be sent to Melbourne sooner than anticpipated.

“Chris (Waller) will have a think about that today and decide what he’s going to do,” Yulong chief operating officer Sam Fairgray told The Verdict podcast.

“Obviously she was going to have a trial in Sydney tomorrow, but Chris will have a think and see what he thinks the best plan is, going forward.”

Waller had planned to run Via Sistina in the 7 Stakes, a $1 million weight-for-age race over 1600m at Randwick on September 20, to avoid a clash with Treasurethe Moment until the Cox Plate.
