International equine assessment company Metrics Equine has recruited Australia-based industry figure Scott Williamson.
Expatriate Englishman Williamson, who most recently managed David Kobritz's Musk Creek Farm on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, has joined the American business run by Jay Kilgore and Ron Mitchell.
Kilgore has been a regular visitor to Australian and New Zealand yearling and two-year-old sales, working with a range of owners and trainers to compile short lists of horses to potentially buy.
Williamson, who is in America for the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, will evaluate cardio potential, mechanical efficiency, and compatibility with other bloodlines and physical types for yearlings, two-year-olds in training, and breeding stock in America, Australia, and New Zealand.
He has held positions at many of the world’s leading breeding, sales, and racing operations, including Coolmore in Ireland, Darley in England, and Lane’s End in the US.
Over the past 17 years based in Australia, Williamson has worked at Musk Creek Farm, Yulong and at Twin Palms as manager as well as roles as assistant manager at Edinglassie Stud and wet mare manager at Widden Stud in the Hunter Valley.
