Racing Queensland chairman Steve Wilson has quietly had his term extended by six months, as the Crisafulli government looks to create stability at the regulator while it undertakes its comprehensive racing review.

Wilson’s term was due to end on April 30, but The Straight has learned it was extended until October 30 by Racing Minister Tim Mander, as he looks to reshape racing in the state via a comprehensive review.

Dale Cartwright, a long-term servant on the RQ board as the greyhound industry representative, left at the end of his term in April.
