Yulong increases interest in stakes winner Within The Law

Yulong has increased its equity in Group 1-placed filly Within The Law, adding a 5 per cent share in the stakes winner via the Magic Millions Digital Sale this week.

Yulong entity Highway Farm paid $70,000 for the share in the Bjorn Baker-trained daughter of Lucky Vega on Wednesday, two weeks after acquiring 11.5 per cent share in the three-year-old for a total of $165,000.

A 2.5 per cent share in the Darby Racing-owned Within The Law, who finished second in the Group 1 Flight Stakes in October, was also offered in this week’s Magic Millions online offering, but it was passed in with a $40,000 reserve.

A 5 per cent share in fellow Darby Racing and Baker-trained sprinter Overpass, who runs in Saturday’s Group 3 Gold Rush in Perth, sold for $40,000 to Blue Arrow Equine.

Western Australian stakes-placed mare Ghobella, a daughter of the state’s champion sire Blackfriars, was bought by Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell for $70,000. The eight-year-old mare, who won six races, is in foal to Maschino.

Tony Fung Investments also sold small percentage shares in Snitzel colts Decorum, a brother to Group 1-winning colt Switzerland, and Canonbury Stakes winner Decorum for $30,000 and $25,000 respectively.
