Rosehill to run on Sunday to avoid excessive heat
This weekend’s Sydney metropolitan meeting at Rosehill will be run on Sunday, with Racing NSW delaying the state’s major thoroughbred meeting of the week by 24 hours.
The regulator on Monday foreshadowed the possible delay to Rosehill because of the 40 degree temperature predicted for Saturday.
Racing NSW said the weather forecast for Sunday, which the Bureau of Meteorology is predicting to be 26 degrees at Rosehill, took into account equine and participant welfare.
The first of 10 races at Rosehill is scheduled to jump at 12.15pm (AEDST) and will be conducted alongside a provincial meeting at Hawkesbury and a NSW country card at Armidale.
