Vinrock retired, to stand at Yulong in 2026

Yulong has confirmed that its Group 1-winning son of I Am Invincible, Vinrock, has been retired and will take up a position on its 2026 stallion roster at a price of $22,000 Inc GST).

Vinrock heads to stud having won four of his eight career starts for trainer Matt Laurie, including a narrow victory in the G1 Inglis Sires last April which booked his spot as a future sire.

Having become the first Australian-based Group 1 winning two-year-old by I Am Invincible, he was secured by Yulong shortly after that run and carried its colours throughout the spring.

During his short career, he also won the G2 VRC Sires and return as a three-year-old to win the Listed Exford Plate early last spring. He also ran fourth in the Caulfield Guineas.

Vinrock’s final run came when sixth in the CF Orr Stakes in November with the decision made to retire the three-year-old rather than push on with an autumn campaign.

Bred by Rosemont Stud, Vinrock was a $300,000 Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale graduate out of the Group 2-winning Redoute’s Choice mare Girl Gone Rockin’.

Inglis Sires winners to have gone to stud in recent years include Militarize, Anamoe, Kings Legacy, Microphone, Invader and Pride Of Dubai.

His $22,000 fee is the lowest introductory fee for a winner of the ATC Sires’ Produce since 2006 winner Excites.
