National Thoroughbred Week seeking hosts

National Thoroughbred Week is calling on industry participants across Australia and New Zealand to register as event hosts for the 10‑day initiative.

Now entering its second year, the program will run from November 20 to 30 and aims to provide the public with rare behind-the-scenes access to the thoroughbred industry. Training stables, breeding farms, re-trainers, race clubs and veterinary facilities are encouraged to open their doors, offering visitors insight into the care, expertise and daily operations involved in raising and managing racehorses.

Organisers say the expanded schedule gives hosts flexibility to tailor events to their audiences, including community groups, schools, universities and aged care organisations. Activities may include stable tours, trackwork viewings, educational demonstrations and opportunities for visitors to interact directly with horses.

The inaugural 2025 program attracted strong participation and community engagement, with events spanning stable operations, farrier demonstrations and raceday experiences.
