Autumn Glow to clash with seven rivals in Queen Elizabeth Stakes

Autumn Glow will face seven rivals in Saturday’s $5 million Queen Elizabeth Stakes on day two of The Championships at Randwick.

Three of her challengers are stablemates Aeliana, Lindermann and Wootton Verni, while she will also meet a pair of horses trained by William Haggas.

Haggas-trained runners include the 2023 Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner Dubai Honour and Caviar Heights, runner-up at his Australian debut in the Group 2 Neville Sellwood Stakes at Rosehill on March 28.

The Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Sir Delius is another notable acceptor in the prestigious 2000m feature.

In the Group 1 Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m), Pride Of Jenni headlines a star-studded field.

A field of 14 accepted for the $1 million fillies-and-mares feature, with Lady Shenandoah, Treasurethe Moment and Lazzura set to challenge the Ciaron Maher-trained front-runner, who has drawn the inside barrier.

Last year’s Group 1 Thousand Guineas winner Ole Dancer is the only three-year-old in the Queen Of The Turf Stakes field.

Meanwhile, 12 fillies will contest the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) with last week’s Adrian Knox Stakes winner Profoundly backing up against New Zealand Oaks winner Ohope Wins.

A field of 16 will line up in the Group 1 Sydney Cup over 3200m with Chris Waller and Ciaron Maher dominating the acceptors.

The Maher-trained Mr Monaco is the favourite with the import drawing the widest barrier.
