Autumn over for Apocalyptic after Surround disappointment
Group 1-winning filly Apocalyptic has emerged from the first unplaced run of her career as an early autumn carnival defector.
One of the stars of the spring with a Flight Stakes victory and a Thousand Guineas placing to her credit, Apocalyptic finished fourth to Tempted in the Surround Stakes at Randwick at the weekend.
She tried to improve in the race alongside the winner at the 400m before conceding a five-length margin to her Godolphin rival.
Part of MyRacehorse’s bloodstock portfolio, Apocalyptic has been a banner filly for the micro-syndicator and trainer Michael Freedman with three wins, three placings and almost $1.2 million in earnings from seven starts.
