Inglis internship applications now open

Applications have opened for the return of the Inglis Internship program, which offers aspiring thoroughbred industry participants the opportunity to gain experience across all facets of the auction house’s operations.

The 12-month full-time role, which begins in spring, is designed to provide the successful applicant with an in-depth understanding of the racing and breeding industries through exposure to all major areas of the Inglis business.

The internship will primarily focus on the bloodstock division but will also include opportunities to work with the marketing, Inglis Digital and Inglis Rural Property teams across the company’s Sydney and Melbourne offices.

The successful candidate will work alongside Inglis staff and industry leaders while gaining insight into the operations of one of the world’s leading thoroughbred auction houses.

The internship also offers the possibility of ongoing employment with Inglis at the conclusion of the program.

Inglis Bloodstock CEO Sebastian Hutch described the Inglis Internship as “a fabulous opportunity to learn about every element of the industry’’.

“We pride ourselves on being a dynamic, enthusiastic and fun team at Inglis and the successful candidate will be immersed in our business with a view to learning from some of the most talented people in the industry,’’ Hutch said.

“This program has proved to be a fantastic pathway with alumni including our own James Price and Will Gardner as well as the likes of Peter Twomey and James Mitchell, both of whom are successful bloodstock agents in their own right.

“Our team has around 1000 years of combined experience, so for someone with a real passion for the thoroughbred industry, the internship is something to get really excited about.

“The opportunities that come with this role for an up-and-coming industry participant are so broad, auction houses engage, in some capacity, with just about every arm of the industry.”
