Blue Door takes Newgate Stud and GPI Racing’s Everest slot
Bjorn Baker’s pitch to John Singleton after the Heritage Stakes has been answered. The Stay Inside filly is the fourth runner confirmed for the October 17 sprint.
John Singleton has confirmed Blue Door for the Newgate Stud and GPI Racing slot in the $20 million TAB Everest after the filly’s Heritage Stakes win.
The three-year-old becomes the fourth horse confirmed for the 1200-metre race at Royal Randwick on October 17. Singleton announced her place on News Central on Monday, SKY Racing said.
“There is a race in three weeks – Singo you there?” Baker said after thr race.
“She would add a real dynamic to the race (Everest). She’s a very fast filly, she had to carry a bit more weight today, she has natural gate speed, she paraded great and is a filly on the rise.
The Heritage was Blue Door’s second win from four starts. She won the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes at her only run last season, then finished second in the Listed Rosebud and Group 3 San Domenico Stakes before Saturday’s win. She has yet to race beyond 1100 metres.
Blue Door is by Newgate stallion Stay Inside.
