Bumper Easter catalogue expected with prized pedigrees among early confirmed entries for Inglis’ ‘Best of the Best’
A proportion of Australasia’s best-credentialed yearlings will be offered at next year’s Easter sale, with Inglis providing buyers with an early look at what will go under the hammer in late March.

Inglis is confident that the line-up of young stock at next year’s Easter Yearling Sale won’t be overshadowed by the presence of a Snitzel colt out of champion mare Winx.
The company released a snapshot of its catalogue for its premium sale of 2026 on Thursday, with the Snitzel-Winx colt to be joined by a brother to three-time Group 1 winner Zougotcha and half-sisters to Private Eye and Sunshine In Paris for the late March sale.
A brother to Coolmore’s Group 1-winning colt Switzerland, a half-brother to Hong Kong champion Golden Sixty, a half-sister to Everest-winning sprinter Classique Legend and close relations to Magic Time, Hitotsu, Estijaab, Fireburn and Coolangatta have also been confirmed for the Easter catalogue.
“It eventuated that we had a very nice group of horses for the sale in 2025, but the success of that sale and positive market sentiment around Inglis in general has meant the support of Easter 2026 has been incredible,” Inglis Bloodstock chief executive Sebastian Hutch said.
“The sale has been ‘full’ since entries closed in September and the quality from every perspective – stallion power, female families, vendor profile etc – is extraordinarily strong.
“There are over 75 yearlings entered at the moment which are siblings to or progeny of Group 1 winners, which gives some illustration of the strength of the line-up – it’s staggering.
“It’s going to be a bigger catalogue than in 2025, which means more opportunities for buyers, which is exciting.
Hutch pointed out that while the 2025 edition bespoke record, there were 104 yearlings that could have been bought for $200,000 or less.
“Inglis Easter is the best yearling sale in the southern hemisphere by just about every credible metric,” he said.
“You are more likely to find a Group 1 winner at Easter, a high-class two-year-old at Easter, it’s got a proven track record as ‘The Best Of The Best’ and the 2026 renewal is going to be very much in keeping with that tradition.”
While the final Easter catalogue won’t be finalised until mid-January, yearlings out of Miss Fabulass, Mizzy, In Her Time, Forbidden Love, Melody Belle, Fiesta, English, Every Rose, September Run, Volpe Veloce, Shoals and Sheeza Belter will also feature in the catalogue.
The catalogue is expected to be bigger than this year’s 421 lots, which achieved $150 million in turnover at an average of $451,913 with a top price of $3 million for a Home Affairs colt out of Shout The Bar.
The colt, bred and sold by Coolmore to trainers Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott, is yet to be named.
The first live foal out of Winx, a filly by Pierro, sold for a record $10 million at the 2024 Easter sale when co-breeder Debbie Kepitis bought out her partners and fended off the bidding of bold American buyer, Resolute Racing’s John Stewart.
