BYD joins forces with Perth Racing for $5m Quokka

Perth Racing has secured global new-energy automotive brand BYD as headline partner for the $5 million Quokka as part of Western Australia’s richest raceday at Ascot on April 18.

Perth Racing chief executive James Oldring said the agreement marked a significant milestone for the race and the club’s broader autumn ambitions.

“We are delighted to welcome BYD as headline partner of The Quokka,” Oldring said.

“An event of this scale provides a powerful platform to showcase world-class racing at Ascot during the autumn carnival, while appealing to experience-driven audiences in a vibrant carnival atmosphere,” he said.

“We look forward to showcasing BYD’s class-leading vehicle range on course as part of our premium offering as we buckle up for a journey that will take The Quokka from strength to strength.”

The 1200-metre slot sprint, first run in 2023, has quickly established itself on the national racing calendar, sitting equal fifth among Australia’s richest events.
