Cup shout if Half Yours or Pride Of Jenni win at Doomben

Brisbane Racing Club and partner XXXX will offer racegoers a complimentary drink if either Pride Of Jenni or Half Yours wins Saturday’s Group 1 Doomben Cup, part of a promotion aimed at enhancing the on-course experience.

The “XXXX Cheers to the Champs” initiative centres on a high-profile clash between two of the sport’s leading performers.

Four-time Group 1 winner Pride Of Jenni is set to meet reigning Melbourne Cup champion Half Yours again following their recent contest in the Hollindale Stakes

The meeting will also feature a farewell appearance from last year’s Doomben Cup winner Antino, who will lead the field out after his recent retirement.

Patrons at last year’s race received a similar offer after Antino’s win.

Brisbane Racing Club CEO Karl deKroo said the concept builds on a similar promotion run last year.

“The response to last year’s Antino versus Pride Of Jenni clash was extremely strong, so we were keen to create something similar around another high-quality race,” deKroo said.

“Having Antino return to lead the field adds another element to the day and gives racegoers the chance to acknowledge his contribution.”

Lion Queensland field sales director Marc Woolnough said the promotion was designed to recognise the champion qualities of the horses involved.

“It’s a good opportunity to highlight a race featuring two high-profile horses and add to the atmosphere on course,” Woolnough said.
