Final call for 2026 Australian Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards nominations
The Australian thoroughbred industry has a final opportunity to recognise its workforce, with nominations for the 2026 Australian Thoroughbred Industry Employee Awards closing at midnight on Wednesday.
Following strong interest and requests for additional time from people across breeding and racing sectors, organisers extended the deadline to ensure no deserving candidate misses the chance to be acknowledged.
The awards, formerly known as the Stud and Stable Staff Awards, recognise staff working behind the scenes across studs, stables and administration who contribute daily to horse welfare and industry standards, with Thoroughbred Breeders Australia (TBA) leading the program in 2026 with support from Godolphin.
TBA chief executive Andrew Hore-Lacy said the strength of the awards relied on industry participants taking the initiative to nominate their peers.
“These awards only happen because someone decides to put another person forward,” Hore-Lacy said.
“Often the best people in our industry don’t get the recognition they deserve, so this is about making sure their contribution is seen and celebrated.”
Entries are open across eight categories – Dedication to Racing (sponsored by Yulong Stud), Dedication to Breeding (sponsored by Magic Millions), Horsemanship (sponsored by Inglis), Leadership (sponsored by AgriFutures), Administrative and Ancillary Services (sponsored by The Straight), Thoroughbred Care and Welfare (sponsored by Queensland Off The Track), Newcomer Award (sponsored by ATA) and the ATIEA Lifetime Achievement Award (sponsored by Godolphin).
