Plaintiff to answer PJ Bell question in maiden stakes test
Trainer Peter Snowden says unbeaten filly Plaintiff will face a genuine test when she resumes from a wide draw in Saturday’s Group 3 PJ Bell Stakes at Randwick.
The $2.2 million three‑year‑old daughter of Zoustar returns after three wins in her first preparation, with Snowden intent on using the race as a springboard to the Group 3 James Carr Stakes in two weeks.
“The good ones they still run well, they still find a way to run well and that’s what I want to see on Saturday,’’ Snowden told Racing NSW.
“She’s going to face adversity but the good ones do find a bit more.’’
Snowden said track patterns by the final race will guide how jockey Jordan Childs navigates the wide alley, adding her trials suggest she is ready to compete strongly.
“I’m really happy with her, both her trials have been good and she’s come back in good order,’’ he said.
Plaintiff, the third foal out of Group 1-winning mare Prompt Response, is raced by John Camilleri’s Fairway Thoroughbreds.
