With entries on par with 2024, this year’s sale will be held over two days - Monday March 17 and Tuesday March 18 - at the Morphettville Sales Complex.

The 2025 Adelaide catalogue includes yearlings by 103 individual sires including 13 with progeny of their first Australian crops.

They include Home Affairs, Tiger Of Malay, Captivant, Acrobat, Extreme Warrior, Ghaiyyath, Palace Pier, Pinatubo, Prague, Profiteer and Stay Inside among others.

Hanseatic is the most represented sire in the catalogue with 13, while Fierce Impact has 12, along with Trapeze Artist and Russian Revolution.

Baramul Stud has the most yearlings catalogued with 46, while renowned South Australian nursery Mill Park Stud has 22.

“Magic Millions is extremely proud of the record of graduates of the Adelaide Yearling Sale,” managing director Barry Bowditch said.

“It is one of the most loved auctions in the country – our vendors and buyers love getting to Morphettville.

“From graduate success to the famous Adelaide visitor experience – South Australia has a lot to crow about. This is the state’s most significant thoroughbred event and economy booster.”

“We can’t wait to welcome our friends back to Morphettville in March,” Bowditch added.

A 2019 graduate, Private Eye cost $62,500 at the 2019 sale before becoming a bona fide star of Australian racing with 12 wins so far for syndicator Proven Thoroughbreds and trainer Joe Pride.

Asfoora was passed in with a $30,000 reserve at the 2020 sale.

As she prepares for a return to racing, Asfoora ranks as one of Australia’s most valuable racemares as the winner of the Group 1 Kings Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot last year.

All lots offered at the 2025 Adelaide Yearling Sale are eligible to be paid up for the Magic Millions Race Series – with 28 races and well in excess of $20 million in prizemoney and bonuses nationally each year.

The sale will be a finale to the Magic Millions’ South Australian carnival that opens with the Magic Millions raceday at Murray Bridge on March 8.

It will also encompass Adelaide Cup day before yearling inspections start on Thursday, March 13.
