Ten-time Group 1 winner Imperatriz has delivered her first foal, a filly by Pierata.

The champion mare delivered the filly earlier this month at Yulong in Victoria, as she begins the next stage of her career.

A winner of 19 of her 27 starts and just short of $7 million in prize money, Imperatriz is one of the most accomplished Australasian sprinters of the past decade.

Among her wins were two victories in the William Reid Stakes and successes in the Manikato Stakes, Moir Stakes. Lightning Stakes and Champion Stakes.

She broke the Australian record for the highest public auction price for an Australian mare when  she sold for $6.6 million through last year’s Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The daughter of I Am Invincible was sent to Pierata for her first mating.
