Two jockeys have been hospitalised following a four-horse fall at Ipswich.
Mark Du Plessis, Nikita Beriman, Tiffani Brooker and leading apprentice Emily Lang all came to grief in the TAB QTIS Three-Year-Old Maiden Plate.
Beriman’s mount, the odds-on favourite Fast Fun, faltered and fell, causing a chain reaction.
Du Plessis was treated on the track before being taken hospital with a rib injury, a suspected broken hand and possible concussion.
Beriman, Lang and Brooker all walked back to the jockeys' room.
However, Beriman was later taken to hospital complaining of neck pain, according to the Australian Jockeys’ Association.
Brooker and Lang were stood down from their remaining rides while Fast Fun had to be euthanised.
