Jimmysstar set to secure Everest spot with Rawiller booked

Owner Ozzie Kheir expects a slot agreement to be signed within 24 hours, setting up a second Everest appearance after Jimmysstar’s fourth Group 1 win.

Jimmysstar is set for a second Everest appearance, with Nash Rawiller booked and owner Ozzie Kheir expecting a deal with an unnamed slot holder to be signed within 24 hours.

Kheir told SENTrack and RSN’s Gareth Hall: “Contracts with our slot holder are being finalised at the moment and are expected to be executed within the next 24 hours.

“Although we are racing against two standouts and many other worthy participants we feel Jimmy having been a last start Group 1 winner needs to be present in the richest sprint in Australia.”

Jimmysstar won the Manikato Stakes at Caulfield on September 27, beating Extragalactic by three-quarters of a length under Ethan Brown. The $2 million victory was his fourth at Group 1 level.

The win followed a ninth-place finish in the Memsie Stakes on August 29, when he was beaten five lengths.

Jimmysstar finished third behind Ka Ying Rising and Tempted in the 2025 Everest, when he raced in TAB’s slot.
