Welcome to the 2025 edition of The Straight’s Nearest The Pin from the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.

The concept is simple. Our good friends at Pedigrees360 released a list of the 34 lots they have identified as standing out on their pedigree rankings. You can check out these horses by going to the Pedigrees 360 website and downloading their highlights.
We have got that list down to 20 across the two days and The Straight’s Tim Rowe and Bren O’Brien are going to make predictions of what price each of those lots will sell for.
Whoever gets closest gets a point. If you guess the amount exactly, you get two points. If a horse passes in, there are no points awarded.

ICYMI: The concept is our friends at Pedigrees 360 have provided their top 20 lots from the @inglis_sales Easter Yearling Sales (by pedigree), @streetruffian and @rowe_tim have gone head to head to get closest to… pic.twitter.com/YK1fQmsMCs
At the end of the sale, whoever gets the most points wins and the loser has to buy the other dinner after the sale is finished. Tim and Bren have been playing this ‘unofficially’ for a few years now so have developed quite the rivalry.
Tim and Bren will be guessing simultaneously by holding up a sheet of paper with the price. If we guess the same amount, we get another go at it.
Just to emphasise, we are not experts, and these values are a true guess. Neither of us have inspected the horses, we haven’t accessed any vet reports. We are going on pedigrees, the fact that Pedigrees 360 have highlighted them, and that these horses were seen as good enough to get into an Easter catalogue.
We will be updating the tally as the sale progresses through our social handles and on our website.
Tim won 12-7
