NSW stablehand banned for two years on welfare charges
A licensed NSW stablehand has been disqualified for two years on equine welfare-related charges.
Anne Flanagan was found guilty on three Racing NSW-issued charges following the regulator’s inspection of three retired thoroughbreds at a property on the NSW south coast.
A Racing NSW statement said the three horses were in the charge of Flanagan.
The statement said Racing NSW officials and a veterinarian assessed the health and welfare of horses, describing them as being in poor body condition due to insufficient nutrition, either entirely or in part.
She was disqualified for 12 months on the charge and a further six months on each of two other charges for failing to observe processes and directions of a principal racing authority and its stewards.
