Pride Of Jenni ruled out of Empire Rose

Pride Of Jenni will miss Saturday’s Group 1 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington. The nine-year-old mare has yet to recover from the leg infection that forced her out of the King Charles III Stakes.

The Ciaron Maher-trained mare was early favourite for the $1 million race. She won it in 2023 and 2025, the latter by 4½ lengths over Leica Lucy.

She was scratched from the $5 million King Charles III Stakes at Randwick after a slight leg infection was found before she left Victoria.

The $3 million Champions Mile at Flemington on November 7 remains an option.

Pride Of Jenni’s latest run was a third consecutive Feehan Stakes win at Caulfield on September 27. It took her record to 14 wins from 49 starts and $12.8 million in prize money.
