Quintet receives Magic Millions Racing Women Achievement Awards

Five women have been recognised for their contribution to Australian thoroughbred racing at the 2026 Magic Millions Racing Women Achievement Awards on the Gold Coast.

Jockey Angela Jones won the Queensland award, media and marketing executive Vicky Leonard for NSW and ACT, racing executive Sam Swaine the Victorian award, jockey Jessica Tzaferis the award for South Australia and Tasmania and trainer Alana Williams was honoured for WA.

Each recipient received a $10,000 TAB Racing Women scholarship to support professional development and further their impact on the industry. The awards, now in their third year, have become a highlight of the TAB Gold Coast Magic Millions Carnival, celebrating leadership and innovation across all levels of racing.

Katie Page-Harvey, co-owner of Magic Millions, said the initiative reflects progress and the importance of continued investment in women’s roles within the sport.

“These awards are about recognising excellence, but they’re also about visibility, investment and momentum,” Page-Harvey said.

“The women honoured tonight are making a real impact in their states and territories, often behind the scenes. By backing them with meaningful support through the TAB Racing Women scholarship, we’re helping ensure their influence continues to grow and that the industry benefits from their leadership long into the future.”

Winners were selected by a national judging panel which featured Zara Tindall, Gai Waterhouse, Denise Martin, Bernadette Cooper and Sophie Swain.
