Media, data and technology company Racing and Sports has stepped up its focus on the burgeoning Asian racing market with the appointment of Ronnie Tay as its new Head of Asia.

Media, data and technology company Racing and Sports has stepped up its focus on the burgeoning Asian racing market with the appointment of Ronnie Tay as its new Head of Asia.

The Australian-founded and publicly listed company has made a major strategic pivot into Asia recent years, looking to expand its footprint in Hong Kong and the surrounding region.

RAS has established new operations in Hong Kong and, in April 2025, acquired six established Hong Kong-based racing publications and a data service.

Tay, who previously served as managing director of iRace Media, will focus on business development, regional growth, and new digital and data initiatives.

Tay’s extensive experience and connections within the broader racing and media industry in the region is seen as a major coup for RAS.

Stephen Crispe, managing director and chief executive of Racing and Sports, said it was a sign of RAS’s intention for growth in the region.

“The appointment of Ronnie marks an exciting step forward for RAS,” he said. “Ronnie’s leadership, industry knowledge and networks, coupled with his regional expertise with strengthen our presence and drive growth across the Asian markets.”

Tay spent nearly 20 years at IRace, the Singapore-based company that was recently bought out by Podium.
