SA fuel relief package to conclude

Racing SA has confirmed that its Fuel Relief Package for participants and clubs will conclude on May 31, marking the end of a short-term initiative introduced to ease cost pressures across the industry.

Launched on April 1, the program provided temporary subsidies to help offset rising retail fuel prices linked to ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Racing SA confirmed over the two-month period, more than $160,000 in financial support was distributed to industry participants.

Racing SA said the package was designed as a targeted, temporary measure in response to global economic conditions impacting local racing operations.

Racing SA emphasised that it would continue to closely monitor fuel cost impacts on the industry and ongoing consultation will occur with key stakeholder bodies including the Australian Trainers’ Association South Australia, the South Australian Jockey Association, and the South Australian Racehorse Owners Association.
