SA Racing Awards return to Morphettville in September

South Australian racing’s premier awards night will return to Morphettville on September 5, with the 2026 Sportsbet SA Racing Awards set to be staged at the Wolf Blass Event Centre.

The annual event recognises the outstanding achievements of the 2025/26 season and will again feature the John Letts Medal, awarded to the state’s leading jockey as voted by Racing SA stewards.

A new addition to this year’s awards is the Most Memorable Moment Award, which will be decided by public vote and aims to celebrate the most emotional, iconic or significant moment from the season, both on and off the track.

Racing SA chief executive Nick Bawden said the awards night provided an opportunity to acknowledge the industry’s achievements and contributions across the season.

“The annual Awards night is traditionally a time to recognise our top achievers on and off the track,” Bawden said.

Nominations have also opened for the Trackwork Rider of the Year and Stablehand/Strapper of the Year awards, with entries to be submitted by licensed trainers.

There is also the Most Outstanding Achievement by an Individual or Volunteer Group award and the Most Outstanding Achievement by a Club.
