Not since 2019 has Magic Millions opened the two-year-old sales season, with the company set to conduct its one-day auction on Thursday, October 9, a week before the Inglis Ready2Race Sale on October 16.

The New Zealand Bloodstock Ready to Run Sale will be held at Karaka on November 12 and 13.

Progeny of stallions such as Alabama Express, Better Than Ready, Capitalist, Exceed And Excel, Harry Angel, Hellbent, I Am Invincible, Maurice, Pierata, Proisir, Snitzel, Spirit Of Boom, Star Turn, Street Boss, Tarzino, The Autumn Sun, Toronado, Trapeze Artist, Wootton Bassett, Written Tycoon, Zousain and Zoustar all feature in the Gold Coast catalogue.

Two-year-olds by young sires Bivouac, Farnan, Home Affairs, Ole Kirk, Stay Inside, St Mark's Basilica, Tiger of Malay and Wild Ruler are also represented.

While predominantly two-year-olds, the Magic Millions catalogue also includes a selection of three and four-year-olds.

"We are delighted with the catalogue that has been assembled for the sale," Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch said.

"The majority of our leading sires are represented - sire power like never before.”

Bowditch said the horses being prepared by some of Australia’s premier vendors should give buyers extra confidence ahead of this year’s sale.

‘Maybe we should put away our fighting swords’ - Harvey proposes single Australian two-year-old sale
EXCLUSIVE: The momentum for a single Australian breeze-up sale is growing with Magic Millions boss Gerry Harvey confirming that it was discussed in a recent meeting with rival auction house Inglis.

"Importantly, the sale is again supported by the leading horsemen and women in the country. They are proven equine educators with proud histories of producing high-class racehorses,” he said.

"Our vendors are leaders in the industry and prospective buyers get the opportunity to see the youngsters breeze around Australia before going under the hammer on the Gold Coast.

"Previous sale graduates have won at the elite level in Australia and abroad and we look forward to this trend continuing into the future."

A colt by Justify fetched $700,000 to top last year's sale.

Named Officiate, the three-year-old made a promising debut when runner-up at Randwick on Wednesday for trainer Chris Waller and Yulong.

Four breeze-up sessions will be staged at the Gold Coast (twice), Seymour, and Newcastle, respectively, between September 23 and October 7, ahead of the October sale.

Inglis Ready for two-year-old sale after catalogue release
Inglis has confirmed a 222-strong catalogue for its Ready2Race Sale to be held on October 16.

All breeze-up sessions will be filmed, as will top speeds, stride length and frequency as well as sectionals over 200, 400 and 600 metres.

"This TripleS data, via electronic chips, uses quality raceday technology to take away the guesswork for interested parties," Bowditch said.

The Magic Millions sale will start at 12pm (AEST).
