Share in possible VRC Oaks starter listed on Inglis Digital

A share in a potential VRC Oaks runner headlines the latest Inglis Digital catalogue offering for the auction firm’s early November sale.

Morisu Ojo is expected to take her place in the $1 million Oaks at Flemington.

Trained by Ciaron Maher, Morisu Ojo is one of 20 Oaks entries with a 2.5 per cent stake available in the Maurice filly, who broke her maiden status three starts ago.

“We’ve offered shares in a Melbourne Cup runner in the lead-up to the race that stops a nation before but never shares in an Oaks horse in this manner so this is new ground for Inglis Digital and very exciting,’’ Inglis Digital business manager Nick Melmeth said.

Bidding will close on Wednesday – 24 hours before the Oaks is run on the third day of the Melbourne Cup carnival.

A 5 per cent share in Statuario, runner-up in last season’s South Australian Derby after winning a 2400m stakes race at Caulfield, also features in the 302-Lot catalogue.

Shares have also been listed in Strait Acer, a Group 1-placed gelding, along with Farcited and Farnicle, who were both stakes-placed as two-year-olds.
