Streisand and Paradoxium transfer into Yulong green ahead of likely Inglis Sires’ clash

Streisand and Paradoxium have joined the Yulong thoroughbred empire in a high-profile switch ahead of the Group 1 Inglis Sires’ at Randwick.

Blue Diamond Stakes winner Streisand and Todman Stakes victor Paradoxium will now race in Yulong’s colours, in a high-powered bloodstock move that could deliver an immediate autumn Group 1 return.

A winner of the Blue Diamond Stakes at Group 1 level when having her fifth start, Streisand went down fighting when runner-up in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on March 21.

After making $22,000 at the Inglis Great Southern Weanling Sale in 2024, Streisand, a daughter of Magnus, fetched $100,000 to the bid of trainer Clinton McDonald and bloodstock agent Shane McGrath at the 2025 Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.

It is believed the daughter of Magnus was subject to a multi-million dollar bid over the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale. While her ownership details are yet to change on Racing Australia, her registered colours have. She is set to remain with Clinton McDonald.

It is a similar story for Paradoxium, the son of Extreme Choice, was a $400,000 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale buy for trainer Bjorn Baker and his agent Jim Clarke.

He finished down the course in the Slipper, but no horse worked harder in the race after being trapped deep on the speed from a wide barrier.

Paradoxium secured his value as a colt in winning the Todman, often regarded as one of the strongest lead-up races to the Slipper.

He previously raced in the Ridgmont colours of the Cunningham family. It is understood his original owners will receive a substantial eight-figure kicker should he win the Sires’. Yulong and Ridgmont are now listed as the owners of the colt.

Yulong purchased his half-sister by Zoustar for $1.1 million at the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale on Sunday.

Their acquisition follows the high-profile sale of Golden Slipper winner Guest House to Coolmore Australia.

Guest House, a Home Affairs colt, was purchased shortly after his Rosehill triumph in a deal reportedly valued at around $30 million.

Yulong’s countermove to snap up Australia’s next generation of stars follows its recent announcement that last year’s Inglis Sires’ winner Vinrock has been retired to join the international breeding conglomerate’s stallion roster.

Unbeaten in three starts as a two-year-old, Vinrock was sold to Yulong at the end of his two-year-old campaign in 2024/25.

He will stand his first season at stud at a recently announced fee of $22,000 (incl GST).
