Six yearlings broke the seven-figure barrier on the second day of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale as Amo Racing and Godolphin resumed their sales ring rivalry.

Topping the day were a trio of colts which sold for 2.2 million guineas, the equivalent of A$4.7 million.

Godolphin purchased a Frankel colt out of Innevera, bred by Luca and Sara Cumani for that price, while Amo Racing went twice to that figure for two Wootton Bassett colts.

The first, consigned by Marlhill House Stud, is a half-brother to Crypto Force and was bred from Galileo mare Luna Mare. The second, sold by Newsells Park Stud, is out of Qabala, a 1000 Guineas third-placegetter, part of Al Shahania Stud’s dispersal.

Amo Racing returned for a Night of Thunder colt from Lynn Lodge Stud, securing him for 1.7 million guineas.

MV Magnier and White Birch Farm were also active, going to 1.7 million guineas for a No Nay Never colt out of Group 1-winning juvenile Millisle. They also purchased a son of Dubawi for 1.3 million guineas.

Total turnover for the first two days reached 47,258,000 guineas, up by 17 per cent on last year's figures.

The day two average climbed marginally to 352,672 guineas while the median dipped by 10 per cent to 215,000 guineas in what was a polarised market.
