Corporate affairs executive Nicholas Tzaferis leaves The Lottery Corporation
Long-term Tabcorp and The Lottery Corporation executive Nicholas Tzaferis has departed his role with the latter company after four years.
Nicholas Tzaferis has left The Lottery Corporation after more than 20 years in key roles with both it and Tabcorp, having worked in senior corporate affairs roles across both companies.
“Twenty-one years ago, I walked through the doors of Tabcorp on what was meant to be a three-month contract,” he said on LinkedIn.
Tabcorp retained its wagering business when it demerged lotteries and Keno into The Lottery Corporation in 2022. The new company listed on the ASX on May 24, and the demerger was implemented on June 1 that year, with Tzaferis later serving as The Lottery Corporation’s General Manager Corporate Affairs after over 15 years in similar roles at Tabcorp.
“It’s been an absolute privilege but my time with The Lottery Corporation has come to an end,” he said. Tzaferis thanked former colleagues at both businesses: “The experience, trust and friendships have given me far more than I ever expected.”
“Earning the support and even advocacy of groups such as governments, investors, employees and the media has always energised me. And it’s probably never been more important for organisations.”
“Political volatility, heightened stakeholder expectations, sustainability obligations and AI (which could have but didn’t write this post!) are testing organisations’ resilience. How they reshape to capture opportunities in this more complex environment may well define their future.”
“I’m looking forward to continuing to share what I’ve gained from more than two decades at the centre of corporate and reputational management and applying this experience in new ways.”
