Wild Ruler continues strong first-season run

Newgate Farm’s first season sire Wild Ruler added another impressive result to his growing record when Myhro’s Ruler secured a six-length victory at Echuca on Friday, becoming the stallion’s 11th winner overall and his 10th in Australia.

Prepared by John McArdle, the gelding dominated the 1000-metre maiden, providing another success for his sire, who is second only behind Coolmore’s Home Affairs when it comes to first-crop Australian winners.

As well as his latest impressive winner, the son of Snitzel has already produced Group 2 winner Stretan Ruler, stakes-winner Queen Regent and stakes-placed Savage Look,

Retained by the Breese family, Myhro’s Ruler is the fifth winner from five foals to race from Myhro, who hails from the family of Snitz, I’ll Have a Bit and Yum, the latter two were/are both trained by McArdle.

Wild Ruler stands the 2026 breeding season at a fee of $27,500.
