Third winner up for first season sire Wild Ruler
Just days after Wild Ruler sired his maiden stakes winner, Silver Slipper scorer Stretan Ruler, the Newgate Farm-based stallion chalked up his third individual winner.
The Stuart Kendrick-trained filly Another Champers, an $80,000 Magic Millions buy in January last year who races in the Eureka Stud colours, started odds-on favourite when winning a two-year-old plate at Rockhampton on Tuesday.
The filly is out of Miss Clicquot, a sister to Spirit Of Boom’s Listed-winning Perdudo.
Wild Ruler is also the sire of the Listed Lonhro Plate-placed gelding Savage Look who won his first start at Scone for trainer Rod Northam while the Phillip Stokes-trained Stretan Ruler is expected to continue his build up to the Golden Slipper via the Todman Stakes at Randwick on March 7.
