Garryard’s McGuire lands Group 1 winner Vibrant Sun
Australasian Oaks winner Vibrant Sun has sold for $465,000 via the Magic Millions Digital Sale to Garryard Equine’s Brian McGuire.
The former Mick Price and Mick Kent Jnr-trained five-year-old daughter of The Autumn Sun had been passed in at last week’s live Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale with a reserve of $700,000.
After failing to find a buyer, Vibrant Sun was offered unreserved through Magic Millions’ online platform, with Coolmore employee McGuire the successful bidder.
Vibrant Sun is out of Tasmanian Group 3-winning Written Tycoon mare Vibrant Rouge.
The second highest-priced lot sold at Thursday’s Digital sale was Perth Listed winner Toropa, a daughter of Toronado who sold to China Horse Club for $360,000.
The seven-time winner, who is a half-sister to the stakes-placed La Farola, was sold by Peter Walsh’s Amelia Park Racing and Breeding operation. China Horse Club plans to mate her with Newgate Farm-based Extreme Choice.
The stakes-placed Duchess Of Gossip, who is in foal to leading Western Australian stallion Playing God, also sold online for $145,000 as part of the Geisel Park Stud dispersal sale.
The All American mare was purchased by Boomer Bloodstock’s Craig Rounsefell.
