‘Outstanding’ – Magic Millions releases 1280-lot Gold Coast Yearling Sale catalogue

Close relations to Group 1 winners Autumn Boy, My Gladiola, Charm Stone, Angel Capital, Farnan and Ozzmosis will all be among the prized yearlings catalogued for an “outstanding” Magic Millions sale on the Gold Coast in January.

Revelling in the recent graduate success of Golden Slipper winner Guest House, Golden Rose and Caulfield Guineas winner Warwoven and the Coolmore Stud Stakes winner The Next Episode as well as Champions Sprint scorer Point Barrow, Magic Millions has unveiled a 1280-Lot catalogue for its pinnacle sale.

Magic Millions on Sunday released a 997-Lot Book 1 catalogue with a 282-Lot Book 2 session to close out five days of selling early in the New Year, punctuated by two rich Magic Millions race days staged at the Gold Coast Turf Club.

Magic Millions managing director Barry Bowditch is already counting down to January 12, day one of the sale to be held at the company’s Bundall sales complex.

“Thanks to the unwavering support of our vendors and breeders across Australasia we have assembled an outstanding catalogue of yearlings to kick away the new year in style,” Bowditch said.

“Our team has inspected a massive number of youngsters and we have brought together an incredibly strong group to fly the Magic Millions flag in January and in the seasons to come on the track.

“The Gold Coast Yearling Sale is unquestionably the best producing yearling sale in Australasia – producing so many more Group 1 winners and stakes winners across a number of seasons than other auctions it’s compared to.”

“This success isn’t just happening now – it’s something that continues season after season. The results on the track are the reason why buyers from across the world love sourcing their next stars on the Gold Coast. It’s the number one sale by a mile.”

A Hellbent half-brother to Point Barrow, who won Saturday’s Group 1 Champions Sprint at Flemington, will also be offered by Yarraman Park while Coolmore will consign a Home Affairs half-brother to Widden Stud-based Group 1-winning sire Jacquinot.

Home Affairs, the reigning champion first season sire who is quickly becoming a commercial powerhouse, will be the most represented stallion with 68 yearlings catalogued for the Gold Coast sale with Bell River Thoroughbreds to sell a half-sister to the Ferguson family’s Thousand Guineas winner Another Prophet by the son of I Am Invincible.

First crop stallions Ozzmosis (47) and Shinzo (39) also have numbers on their side while champion stallions I Am Invincible (45) and Zoustar (43) are also well represented at the season-opening sale.

Other potential highlights are Milburn Creek’s half-brother to Group 1-winning mare Magic Time, with the colt from the final crop of five-time champion Australian stallion Snitzel.

Yearlings out of Group 1 winners Aristia, Belle en Rouge, Bonaria, Booker, Chain Of Lightning, Daysee Doom, Diamond Drille, Estijaab, First Seal, Foxplay, Global Glamour, In Her Time, Instant Celebrity, Invest, Invincibella, Krone and Lickety Split have also been catalogued by Magic Millions.

Loving Gaby, Maven Belle, Melody Belle, Mississippi Burning, Mrs Onassis, Odeum, Pignan, Princess Jenni, Royal Descent, Santa Monica, She’s Extreme, Shout The Bar, Silent Sedition, Tiggy Wiggy and Under Your Spell, all Group 1 winners, also have yearlings catalogued for the Gold Coast.

“The beauty of the Gold Coast Yearling Sale is that quality yearlings cover so many levels of the market – no matter whether you’re looking for a specific sire or a certain price-point you will be spoilt for choice,” Bowditch said.
