Bivouac sibling Sequinned breaks through at Randwick

Well-bred Godolphin filly Sequinned, a half-sister to top sprinter and emerging sire Bivouac, opened her winning account with a dominant first-up victory at Randwick on Wednesday.

Ridden patiently by Zac Lloyd, the Chris Waller-trained Sequinned settled towards the rear before producing a strong finishing burst to defeat first starter Wanda’s Spark by more than a length in the 1100-metre maiden, with favourite Eviction Notice third.

“It’s a good result for Godolphin as she is an incredibly well-bred horse,” stable representative Charlie Duckworth said.

Sequinned is the seventh winner from eight foals to race out of Dazzler, a metropolitan-winning daughter of More Than Ready and half-sister to four-time Group 1 winner Guelph, while the family also includes stakes winner Coruscate alongside triple Group 1 hero Bivouac.

The victory provided Pinatubo with his sixth Australian-bred winner from his first domestic crop ahead of the Darley stallion returning to Kelvinside this spring at a service fee of $27,500 (incl GST).

Bivouac, the sire of dual Group 1 winner Beiwacht and Queensland Oaks heroine Fireball Miss, will also stand at Kelvinside in 2026 for $33,000 incl GST.
