Entries open for Inglis, NZB two-year-old sales
Entries are open for two of Australasia’s two-year-old sales later this year, with Inglis joining New Zealand Bloodstock in calling for entries for its breeze-up auctions.
Inglis on Wednesday opened entries for its October 15-scheduled Riverside Stables Ready2Race Sale, which last year produced Group 1 JJ Atkins winner Tron Bolt and debut Listed winner Hard Kick.
The 2025 Inglis sale grossed a record $20.017 million, up 28 per cent on the previous year, while its 81 per cent clearance rate and $100,000 median topped all Australasian two-year-old sales. The average price of $151,644 was also the highest in the region.
Inglis Bloodstock chief executive Sebastian Hutch said the sale continued to strengthen on the back of its graduate success.
“There is incredible momentum behind this sale,’’ Hutch said.
“The fact that the sale has produced two Group 1-winning colts this season in Tron Bolt and Libertad is very significant, but it doesn’t tell the whole story.
“Year after year, we ask our vendors to support our sale with better stock, whether they are horses sourced from commercial sales or homebreds and the graduate success is there for all to see.
“Hard Kick is one of the most exciting two-year-olds of the season having won the Listed Talindert Stakes on debut in the spring, Queen Regent won the Listed Woodlands in Scone in May, Mbube won stylishly on debut recently and of course there is Tron Bolt, all out of last year’s sale.”
The sale will be preceded by breeze-ups at Warwick Farm on September 25, Taupo on September 28 and Wangaratta on September 29. Entries close on August 7.
NZB counterpart Andrew Seabrook, the company’s long-time managing director, believes New Zealand’s two-year-old sale stands the test of time.
It is slated for November 18 and 19 with breeze-ups to be held at Te Rapa on October 12 and 13.
“This sale continues to reach new heights on the racetrack and in the sale ring, with three consecutive record-breaking editions,” Seabrook said.
“The results in the ring have grown rapidly year-on-year, with the aggregate rising 74% over seven years – from $23.8 million in 2019 to $41.4 million in 2025.”
Entries for the NZB Ready to Run Sale close at 5pm (NZ time) on Friday, July 31.
