Chris Waller Racing confirms Joliestar for third consecutive Everest

Joliestar returns to the $20 million Randwick race after a Royal Ascot placing and a second in The Shorts, extending her partnership with the same slot holders.

Cambridge Stud mare Joliestar will contest her third consecutive Everest after Chris Waller Racing confirmed her for its slot in the $20 million Group 1 at Randwick.

The six-year-old daughter of Zoustar will again represent Chris Waller Racing and Partners in the 1200-metre race. She finished seventh in 2024 and was fifth last year.

Joliestar finished third in the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot before returning to run second to Mazu in the Group 2 The Shorts at Randwick on September 19.

Her past year has included Group 1 victories in the Canterbury Stakes and TJ Smith Stakes.

“She went to Royal Ascot and performed admirably against some of the best sprinters in the world, which gave everyone involved enormous confidence in just how good she is,” trainer Chris Waller said in announcing her selection.

Cambridge Stud principal Sir Brendan Lindsay said the agreement reflected the relationship that had developed between the stud and the slot partners.
