Lightly raced Point Barrow heads Sangster market

Last-start Group 3 winner Point Barrow is the early favourite for Saturday’s Robert Sangster Stakes, the Group 1 fillies and mares’ sprint at Morphettville.

The Adelaide 1200m race has the Anthony and Sam Freedman-trained daughter of Blue Point at the top of the market at $4, with possible Royal Ascot runner Generosity ($6) joint second elect with Skybird.

The Mitch Freedman-trained Skybird, whose The Everest campaign in 2025 was abandoned due to injury, returned to form with a third in the Group 1 T J Smith Stakes second-up in Sydney.

Charm Stone, who won the Sangster last year, can also confirm a spot on the plane to the UK if she runs up to expectations in this year’s edition. She is an $8 chance in all-markets, as is three-year-old filly My Gladiola and Perth mare Super Smink, who is to be sold at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast next month.

Benedetta, who is the headline mare at the Inglis Chairman’s Sale, is also among the entries for the Sangster.
