Magic Millions completes breeze-ups for Gold Coast Horses in Training Sale
Monday’s Gold Coast Horses in Training Sale offers first-time Race Series access for eligible two-year-olds, with 74 nominated lots and a Showtime colt setting the fastest breeze-up time.
Magic Millions has completed three breeze-up sessions ahead of Monday’s Gold Coast Horses in Training Sale.
The Showtime–Mileyva colt, Lot 127 from Nolen Racing, recorded the fastest breeze across the sessions, clocking 10.00 seconds on the Gold Coast course proper on September 22. The Kingman–French Dispatch colt, Lot 92, clocked 10.11 seconds at the same session.
Thursday’s final Gold Coast session featured 18 lots: 12 on grass and six on synthetic. The Trapeze Artist–Counterplay colt, Lot 76, led the grass times at 10.32 seconds, ahead of the Supido–All in a Row filly, Lot 54, at 10.38 seconds.
The Stronger–The Darling colt, Lot 24, was quickest on the synthetic in 10.51 seconds. At Scone on September 30, 33 horses breezed, headed by the Capitalist–Madeira Bay colt, Lot 160, in 10.65 seconds.
“Across the three breeze up sessions we have seen some impressive performances,” Magic Millions Managing Director Barry Bowditch. “And the strong track efforts are matched by some impressive pedigrees and types.”
“The quality is strong across the catalogue and our trusted and experienced vendors have done a great job educating and preparing them for the Gold Coast Horses in Training Sale.”
“There looks to be some great buying opportunities and we encourage everyone to check the online catalogue – this is a sale where buyers are spoilt for information and data.”
Magic Millions moved the auction into the same week as Inglis’s Ready to Race Sale, scheduled for October 15 in Sydney, with the aim of improving access for international buyers.
Seven supplementary lots, numbered 154–160, have been listed. Inspections run from Saturday, October 10, through sale day on Monday, October 12, with the sale to start at 3:30pm.
“This is a sale that has a proud history of producing stakes horses around the world and from what we have seen over the past few weeks this record will only continue into the future,” Bowditch added.
