Memsie contenders to have Heath rehearsal
A seven-horse jump out featuring several Group 1 winners will be held at Caulfield on Saturday ahead of the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes meeting.
Mr Brightside, Treasurethe Moment, Tom Kitten and Giga Kick have been confirmed for the 1000-metre hit out, with Craig Williams, Damian Lane and Mark Zahra booked to ride while Giga Kick’s jockey is yet to be confirmed.
Talented import Yellow Jersey, sprinter De Bergerac and unbeaten filly Aethera will also take part, with Chad Schofield, Daniel Stackhouse and Logan Bates to ride respectively.
The jump out will be held on the Caulfield Heath track 45 minutes before the nine-race program begins at 12.25pm.
Treasurethe Moment and Giga Kick were initially scheduled to have exhibition gallops between races three and four after wet weather forced the cancellation of planned jumpouts at Mornington, but the session was expanded when other trainers sought a grass gallop opportunity.
The jump out will provide an early look at several horses targeting the Group 1 Memsie Stakes at Caulfield on August 29, with a number of Memsie hopefuls also set to contest the P.B. Lawrence Stakes over 1400 metres on Saturday.
Meanwhile, in Sydney, seven Chris Waller-trained stablemates including Autumn Glow, Autumn Boy, Beiwacht and Lady Shenandoah among seven horses slated to have an exhibition gallop after the opening race at Rosehill on Saturday.
