Richard and Will Freedman partnership fined $5800 after Racing NSW inquiry
Racing NSW stewards have fined co-trainers Richard and Will Freedman a total of $5800 following a hearing into three separate charges.
A hearing this week examined findings of oxazepam and temazepam in a urine sample collected after Luna Bay finished second in a provincial race in September, to which the Freedmans pleaded guilty.
The family partnership pleaded guilty to a second charge after officially barrier trialling Orange Tsunami and Vin Santo on October 13, 2025, within eight clear days of the horses receiving intra-articular injections on October 10.
Stewards also issued a third charge, with the father-and-son team also pleading guilty to training and exercising Zocketman on a racecourse during the mandatory two-month stand-down period following a bleeding attack without stewards’ permission.
Evidence during the hearing was taken from the Freedman training partnership, Racing NSW veterinary officer Dr Claire Moore and Australian Racing Forensics Laboratory general manager John Keledjian.
