Sportsbet appoint Michael Foster as new CIO

Sportsbet has confirmed that Michael Foster will assume the role of Chief Information Officer with Australia’s biggest corporate bookmaker.

Foster has been with the company since 2016 in the role of General Manager – Enterprise Technology, having previously worked for Sensis and Infosys.

He takes over the role which Simon Noonan previously occupied before taking up a role with MYOB.

“I’m super excited, thrilled and privledged to continue my career journey at Sportsbet, now as the CIO,” Foster said on LinkedIn.

“Sportsbet is an incredible organisation to be a part of and the last 7 years have been incredibly rewarding both personally and professionally.

“To now have the opportunity to lead our Technology capability is honestly a dream come true.”

Sportsbet confirmed the news this week.

“With over 20 years in technology roles across several industries, Michael brings extensive technical leadership experience to the CIO role. We’re excited to welcome him to our leadership team,” it said.

Foster said he looked forward to continuing Sportsbet’s reputation as a leader and innovator in the wagering space.

“Our Technology team has fantastic track record of combining tech innovation with customer needs, creating incredible products and experiences. I look forward with energy and excitement to supporting and helping the team continue to achieve these outcomes and strive to even further heights,” he said.

“It would be remiss of me not to recognize and thank Simon Noonan for his coaching, mentorship, advice and overall support of both my career and the broader Technology team. Simon has been pivotal to providing me the pathway to this career change and I can’t thank him enough.”
