Sportsbet will be the naming rights partner of the Gawler and Barossa Jockey Club, Oakbank Racing Club and the Port Lincoln Racing Club for the next three years.

The move comes after Sportsbet signed seven-year deals with Racing SA, Country Racing SA and the South Australian Jockey Club earlier this year.

As a result of that agreement, South Australia’s four Group 1 races - the Robert Sangster Stakes, the Australasian Oaks, the South Australia Derby and The Goodwood - had their purses doubled to $1 million in 2023.

“Sportsbet is excited to partner with Gawler, Oakbank and Port Lincoln, continuing to show our support of the South Australian racing industry,” Sportsbet’s chief financial officer Nathan Arundell said.

“We look forward to working with the clubs to do things differently and attract new audiences to racing.”

Sportsbet is now a naming rights sponsor for seven thoroughbred courses across Victoria and South Australia, including Sandown, Pakenham, Ballarat and Wangaratta.

Million-dollar comeback - Sportsbet sponsorship boosts prize money for South Australian G1 features
The Adelaide carnival’s headline races have figured in significant stakes increases after a partnership arrangement involving Sportsbet.

“Our new partnership with Sportsbet marks an exciting transition for our club, enhancing our ability to deliver top-tier racing events through new market insights, an expanded customer reach, and the funds to elevate the on-course atmosphere at our feature race days,” Port Lincoln general manager Elouise Dukalskis said.
