Stand down: Moonee Valley reconstruction gathers pace

Moonee Valley’s grandstand demolition is nearing completion, nearly six months of the massive reconstruction of the Melbourne racecourse began.
The Moonee Valley Racing Club posted a message on social media on Tuesday, outlining the progress of developments, depicting the almost complete removal of the stand for Mann Group AU.
The club reported significant progress continues across the redevelopment site being conducted by Symal Group.
Progress has been made on the new road connecting Thomas St and Dean St and Cox Place tunnel construction is advancing.
The new racecourse will be laid ahead of the upcoming spring with a return to racing to take place ahead of the 2027 Cox Plate in October.
