Want A Winner has won the $1 million Develop-Golden Saddle for slot holder Yarradale Stud, with Shaun O’Donnell guiding the Sean and Jake Casey-trained sprinter to victory at Kalgoorlie on Saturday, October 3.
The $21 chance beat Cessation by 2.74 lengths in the 1200-metre weight-for-age race, with $2.25 favourite Immortal Bliss third.
Want A Winner challenged Cessation approaching the home turn before drawing clear in the straight, taking his record to five wins from 10 starts.
The Golden Saddle was run for the second time. Magnificent Andy won the inaugural edition in 2025 for slot holder Beament Racing Syndicate, trainer Stephen Miller and jockey Brad Parnham.
The race forms part of Kalgoorlie’s broader Racing Round, with the million-dollar sprint conceived as a regional counterpart to The Everest and The Quokka.
