Well-related Digital mare finds new home at Arrowfield

Arrowfield has continued its investment in young breeding stock with the $325,000 acquisition of Kingman mare Fiorenza, the half-sister to four-time Grade 1 winner In Italian and the stakes-placed Villa Carlotta.

The rising six-year-old will join the Arrowfield broodmare band after fetching the top price at Thursday’s Inglis Digital (Late) May Online Sale just a day after the John Messara-led Hunter Valley stud was active at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale on the Gold Coast. Fiorenza is out of the Group 3-winning Redoute’s Choice mare Florentina.

The second highest-priced lot at this week’s Digital sale was Wootton Bassett colt West Of Swindon, a rising four-year-old who won the Group 2 Bill Stutt Stakes at Moonee Valley in the spring.

He was bought by Pure Bloodstock for $310,000 after being offered by Ciaron Maher Racing on behalf of his ownership group headed by Qatar Racing.
